Having eaten in Cristóbal Colon on a number of occasions and sampled
both menu del dia and the a la carte menu, I can only say you must go and
sample this wonderful restaurant and food for yourself.
The last time I went, we sat on the Arenal front overlooking the sea.
We chose from the daily specials and shared a starter of pasta and fresh
grilled Mediterranean vegetables. I then had the fresh sole; simply grilled
with butter and herbs, with a selection of fresh vegetables. My partner
tried the grilled pork fillets, again served with ample portions of fresh
vegetables and patatas bravas. For our sweet, we had a fresh fruit salad
(delicious).
This is a family restaurant which is run by Pedro, his wife Antonia and
their son Jose Carlos. It is also well known for it's a la carte menu with
fresh lobster and large Mediterranean langoustines, also one of their specialities.
They have awards from the Feria International de Gastronomica de Javea,
and their head chef, Pedro Angel, was trained at the famous Escuela de
Cantabreia school of cooking here in Spain.

fish of the day or lobster from the tank. Open till late and over 100 different
wines to choose from - Cristóbal Colon is the place to go.
