With over 15 years' experience, the manager, Claudio and his chef, José,
are skilfully combining the traditional with the new and creating exquisite
dishes in their superior Mediterranean kitchen.
The fabulous view of the sea and the port coupled with the beautiful,
bright colours of the interior make this an intimate and romantic choice
for you and your partner. But let's not concentrate only on the views,
we are here to eat and you will eat royally at the Calima!
Open daily for lunch from 1-3.30pm and for dinner from 7.30-11.30pm,
you can take your pick from some of the best cuisine around.
For starters we suggest the exquisite French onion soup, perfect for
those cooler evenings, or the creamy pasta with asparagus and mushroom.
Follow that with roast duck with a twist - rather than the ubiquitous orange
sauce of the seventies, served with a delicious, tangy apple compote or
you may choose the rabbit wrapped in flaky pastry, lamb in honey with cinnamon
and spices or oven baked goat in its own juice and served with an onion
sauce. Segovia's signature dish, roast sucking pig, is lovingly re-created
at Calima. Maybe you would prefer some delicious, fresh fish from the bay.
Tender cod (no batter or breadcrumbs in sight) but in the style of the
north of Spain, with onions, tomatoes and dried red peppers or the succulent
monkfish with a clam, asparagus and chopped almond sauce. Those with lighter
appetites may opt for one of their special healthy salads - tender lettuce
hearts with asparagus, cod, tuna and olives drizzled with tomato vinaigrette
or decadent langoustines and smoked salmon with a light tartare sauce.
There is also a special menu of the day at €11.90 which includes a
starter, main course, dessert or coffee, bread and a drink.
At Calima so much care is taken into making your visit a pleasurable
and memorable dining experience. Their secret is a combination of the wonderful
variety of dishes on offer, together with stunning views over the Bay of
Jávea. Don't wait too long to share that experience and secret!
