- International Cuisine
- Austrian & Italian a speciality
The restaurant Tirol is set in a pleasant location away from the hoards,
and consequently boasts a relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant has been established
for over six months in Jávea, but the experienced chef has fifteen
years expertise, and has gained himself a four star award for his efforts.
The style of food here is a fusion of the best fresh Spanish dishes with
strong Austrian and international influences - literally, the best European
ideas have come together to create a menu I couldn't wait to tuck into.
For the romantics amongst you, the interior is divided into four separate
dining areas with an intimate feel. While the Mediterranean garden offers
seating space for over one hundred diners with the fabulous backdrop of
the Montgo mountain sitting prestigiously to one side. A huge glass dividing
wall sections off the kitchen, where diners can watch the expert chefs
at work.
As the starters were generous my companion and I shared a warm dish of
king prawns in garlic oil. The prawns were fresh, succulent and bursting
with flavour. We thoroughly enjoyed them. For my main dish, I chose baked
potato with chicken slices, mixed vegetables and curd cheese sauce. This
was baked potato with a wealthier mix of flavours than I had ever tasted.
The menu also had a vast variety of other, more unusual dishes, such as
kangaroo medallions in morel sauce with spinach and potato biscuits; and
ostrich steak in cognac sauce with vegetables and potato gratin. I have
never visited a restaurant with such a wide variety of foods for all tastes.
And with starters priced from only 3.50€, and main dishes from 9.50€
I saw no reason not to eat as much as possible!
Restaurant Tirol Don Luis has thought of everything. Their award-winning
chef can cater for lovers of meat, fish, and seafood; vegetarians and lovers
of traditional dishes. Most importantly, there are several, more than ample
children's menus priced at just 7.50€ for a main dish, drink and ice-cream.
I witnessed several very happy little customers tucking into their own
special menus.
