The friendly atmosphere, intimate and cosy ambience and the colourful
interior or El Suquet will have you coming back time after time!
Rocío and chef, Jordi, offer true Mediterranean cuisine using
only the freshest and best of local produce, which are complemented with
other ingredients from all around the world. The menu is just bursting
with dishes using fruit and vegetables which are all bought from the nearby
farms and it is not unusual to spot a local market gardener bringing his
latest harvest into the kitchen!
For starters why not try the roast vegetable “Coca” with
anchovies and muscatel grapes? Or for the ultimate healthy eating experience,
the platter of those “just-picked” vegetables, all with differing
textures, and drizzled with mushroom oil - sublime! The rice dishes here
are excellent with lobster, prawns, clams and cuttlefish options, baked
rice, which you will need to order in advance, or the specials of the day.
Even the paella which is often featured on the specials board is just that
little bit different from the norm. The meats are succulent and tender,
again piled high with those delicious vegetables. And the fish is the freshest
it can be; in fact, there are no actual fish dishes on the menu, simply
a note saying the fish served will be dependent on what is available from
the market that day! Freshness at its best! Even the desserts and ice-creams
are home-made and changed daily.
At only €12.50 the four course menu of the day, served from Tuesday
to Friday, which includes a starter and soup, a mixed fish and meat paella
and dessert is outstanding value. If you have something to celebrate get
all your friends together and delve into their 6 course creative, taster
menu at €30. Lots of different dishes to sample depending, again,
on what is fresh that day - but be warned it is not for the faint-hearted
and it must be ordered for the whole table!
The Management and Staff invite you to experience local Mediterranean
cuisine with a creative twist at El Suquet.
