Award winning Head Chef, Gonzalo Serantes, describes himself as a “traditional” Chef but his talents are clearly of an international flavour. He and his team have created an amazing new concept. The “Auditions” menu. Gonzalo will be preparing new and innovative dishes that will bring a lot of his creative ideas to life. He clearly relishes the opportunity to work closely with the restaurants’ clients because it will be their reactions that judge which dishes become permanent features on the main menu. What a novel idea!

For example the curtain could open with a starter of grilled scallops with cabbage, perfumed with smoked salmon and a mustard dressing which enhances, rather than masks, the delicate sweet flavour of scallops. Or a red pepper bavaroise with fennel sauce and black olives - light as a feather but firm as a mousse. The main act may be seared fresh and smoked salmon on a spiced tartar potato cake with a warm poached egg where you can drizzle the yolk, or caramelised pork fillet resting on a pool of sweet and sour jus. The finale might be a healthy apple pannacotta with honey and Greek yoghurt sauce served with an oven-dried apple crisp or an outstanding performance by the Sweet Follies - an uncompromisingly rich, toffee-covered Kahlua-soaked biscuit giving substance to liquid chocolate that has been flavoured with chilli. Sunday lunch
is a set menu with a choice of four starters, four main courses including a vegetarian option and a fish dish. Additionally there are four delightful desserts prepared by our by our award winning Austrian patissier. What an act to follow!

Children are most welcome and special menus, which are both nutritious and carefully crafted, have been designed for the younger diners. Shepherd's pies and gourmet fish goujons have ousted the ubiquitous nuggets and chips!

Live artists play on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturday nights and a pianist tinkles the ivories during your Sunday lunch.

Set in a charming and tranquil location in the hills of Moraira but only 5 minutes from the beach, La Mesa is deliciously different and the food is so good it's addictive!
