Tucked away in the port, half way down the passageway known as Andrés
Lambert, which is directly opposite the hotel Miramar, is a bright and
welcoming but small and intimate new original Indian restaurant called
the Indian Continental. With its warm pastel colours, unusual decorations
and pictures, it typifies modern India and it is overseen by the owner
and Chef Sarwan Singh.
The menu is traditional and light. From the starter menu the fragrant
onion bhajis were fabulous, the crispy vegetable pakoras were a delight
and the meltingly light samosas are an absolute must. For larger groups,
the mixed tandoori grill is a total wow!
The speciality naan breads we also highly recommend, we loved the cheese
and garlic naan. There is a great selection of main courses, from the creamy
chicken korma to the chicken or lamb tikka balti and their fabulous chilli
chicken are all best sellers and wonderfully prepared. For vegetarians
and non vegetarians alike, the veggie dishes are extremely tasty, we tried
the unusual mushroom bhaji, you should try it! Finish off with one of the
superb home made sweets. Don't miss the Indian halwa, which is a type of
Indian cake made from semolina, coconut and dried fruits or, sulab jamun
fried Indian cheese balls with caramel, lipsmackingly different or refresh
your pallet with the home made mango ice cream or the delightfully different
home made pistachio desert.
