This family run restaurant is in an ideal location with wonderful views
of the sea and Cabo de San Antonio, so relaxing and especially romantic
in the evenings as the fishing boats sail in the moonlight. It is near
to the Port on the Avd del Mediterraneo with ample parking on the pebble
beach in front of the restaurant.
Jose Luis, the owner, is in charge of the cooking and his son Jose Luis
runs the front of house. They have been open for twelve years and two years
ago totally and tastefully refurbished the restaurant including many individual
touches such as the library of regional cook books. They only use fresh
local produce especially the fish.
The menu is original and varied with lots of specialities. Try the seabass
(lubina) cooked in salt or the steak sizzling on a stone or as a special
treat one of Jose Luis´ own recipes - the “Caldereta de Rape
con Cigalas” - a wonderful combination of monkfish and special prawns
in a wine and almond sauce or Gazpacho Marinero made in a paella pan with
matzo biscuits, prawns, monkfish and squid cooked in a rich fish stock
with oregano and rosemary. Different and delicious!
The restaurant is open every lunchtime from 13.30 to16.00 hours and Tuesday
to Saturdays evenings inclusive from 19.30 to 23.30 except in July and
August when it is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.
There is a special 5 course lunch menu which includes fish and meat priced
at 14,50€ and a seasonal evening tasting menu which again includes
five courses.
